Small quake shakes US-Mexico border; no damage

Another small earthquake has struck an often shaken border region of California and Mexico, but there are no reports of any injuries or damage.

A preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-4.2 quake struck at a depth of about 11 miles at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday. It was centered 21 miles west of Mexicali, Mexico and 12 miles southeast of Ocotillo, Calif.

A dispatcher with the Imperial County Sheriff’s Department says no injuries or damages have been reported.
