Prosecutors in the northern Mexico border state of Sonora say they have arrested a suspect in the killing of a Yaqui Indigenous rights leader who had raised money for his community on highway blockades.

Tomas Rojo Valencia disappeared on May 27 amid tensions over months of periodic blockades that the Yaqui put up to protest against gas ducts, water pipelines and railway lines that have been run across their territory without consulting them.
