Donald_Trump_August_19,_2015_(cropped)As the Republican National Convention gets underway in Cleveland, Mexico is starting to wonder whether or not its lucrative trade agreement with the United States and Canada could get an unfavorable rewrite.

On Tuesday, Luis de la Calle, Mexico’s former deputy trade minister and now president of Hill + Knowlton Strategies for Latin America, spoke with investors in a conference call organized by Nomura Securities in New York to discus “trade under Trump”. Corporate and portfolio investors are trying to get a handle on what might happen to the 23 year old North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) should Donald Trump become president.
