Mexico appointed a new ambassador to the United States just months after Miguel Basáñez, his predecessor, took up the post.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement saying that the new ambassador to the U.S. is Carlos Manuel Sada Solana, consul general in Los Angeles.
The foreign ministry said that between 2007-2011 Sada had an outstanding performance at the embassy in Washington as a liason to Congress, as well as consul general in New York, Chicago, San Antonio, and Toronto.
During his career in public service he had also been mayor of the City of Oaxaca and minister of Social and Economic Development of the State of Oaxaca.
