The Senate approved changes to Article 73 that allows the Congress to create legislation in regards to forced disappearances, torture and other cruel and inhumane treatment or punishment. The intention is to criminalize and punish such offenses through a standardized procedure.

The Chamber of Deputies approved changes to Article 72 of the Constitution requiring cargo trucks, buses and private transportation vehicles to carry information regarding the physical state and gas emission levels of the vehicle. Those who do not carry this verification will be fined.
