Trascendió:  Within the PGR César Camacho’s (ex-governor of the State of Mexico) name is being bandied about as the possible next Attorney General…Turns out that Colombian General Óscar Naranjo has influenced Mexican thought on crime reduction before, the governor of Chihuahua , César Duarte, says that he influenced his anti-crime policies which helped reduce the crime rate in the state between 2010-2011, even though the state remains the most violent in Mexico…The meeting between President Calderón and Elba Esther Gordillo was marked by extreme cordiality between the two parties, even though it was clear that she reclaimed the authority over the Alliance for Quality Education because while he is leaving, she remains…


Jorge Fernández Menéndez, “La libertad y los negocios:” In this editorial Fernández Menéndez looks at Wikileaks and the Assange case, and says that it is interesting that even though Wikileaks claims to exist so as to expose totalitarian government’s, Assange asked for asylum from Ecuador.  A country which, according to Fernández Menéndez, has increasingly restricted freedom of expression since Rafael Correa took power, and is fundamentally different from countries like Sweden (which is seeking his extradition) which is one of the most free countries in the world.


Templo Mayor: The plenary of the elected PRI senators took place yesterday this session was created to cover topics such as finances, foreign affairs and public policy, but it is said that Sunday’s preliminary meetings brought up controversial topics such as perhaps raising sales tax; PAN’s elected officials will also hold a plenary that will be led by Luis Alberto Villarreal who was recently named PAN’s coordinator in the Chamber of Deputies; Though Governor Marcelo Ebrard has supported #YoSoy132 cause it seems that the support may have to end soon if he wants to make sure that chaos does disrupt the DF.

Bajo Reserva,” Bernardo Sepúlveda en la plenaria de senadores del PRI”: The presence of Bernardo Sepúlveda, former chancellor and present magistrate of the International Court of Justice, at the plenary of the elected PRI senators has given the idea that he may have a position in Enrique Peña Nieto’s cabinet; It has been assured that next September 20th, heads of State and Government that belong to the Organization of American States will meet in Mexico City to make the declaration of the establishment of a hemispheric scheme against transnational organized crime.
