Mexico’s foreign secretary used her trip to Ottawa during an annual set of bilateral meetings to press for a trusted traveller program, and her presence was seen by observers as a positive step in continental relations.
Mexico’s Patricia Espinosa met with Foreign Minister John Baird and attended the Canada-Mexico Partnership meetings. The partnership, which was launched in 2004, gives the two countries the chance to have a broad review of what has been going on in the bilateral relationship, Ms. Espinosa said at a breakfast event on May 30.
“It’s a very useful instrument to make sure that our actions and the direction of our work is not lost in the everyday work of our administrations,” she said.
