The Mexican Economy: In Latin America’s “Basement” (in Spanish)

Mexico’s economy has been the most affected in Latin America by the global recession and will be the nation that will take the most time to recover, according to a study by the Grupo de Diarios América (GDA).

According to a quarterly survey, the GDA – to which El Universal belongs – the Mexican economy will shrink this year, contracting 7.2% from 2008; the Brazilian economy will grow 0.33%; and in Colombia, there will be no growth.
