A total of 290,019 Mexicans have benefited in 5 months from Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). This number represents 79% of all the people who have obtained the right to defer their deportation from the United States for two years.
This means that almost 300,000 Mexicans who came to the United States before age 6 have been accepted or are in the process of being accepted by the program. Since the program was launched in August 2012, a total of 407, 889 young professionals have applied to the program and 394,553 have been accepted. This number includes young university graduates from El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala who will have the opportunity to work in the U.S. for two years.
