“The Intelligence we need”
“Knowing a lot is not the same as being smart. Intelligence is not only information, but also judgement, the manner in which it collects and manages information, “ said the scientist Carl Sagan. He was right. The Mexican state, like others, knows from its information services about many things, but does not have a real state intelligence service. We have experts and institutions that can work very well, but they lack integrity and an operating structure that would allow all information to flow to a single defined goal. On Monday, Minister of the Interiror, Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, said he is preapring to integrate a true (and new) intelligence service in Mexico to define how to integrate the various organizations within the country with the aim of enhancing security and combatting crime.
