Clase Política, Miguel Ángel Rivera,”Calderón busca trascender”: Through his recent actions it seems as though President Felipe Calderón is trying to determine part of the next administration, first he announced his candidates for the Supreme Court and yesterday in Tijuana he confirmed that the “digital switch” will start next year; President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto made progress for the collaboration between Mexico and Germany for alternative energy sources during his meeting with Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany; Governor of the State of Mexico, Eruviel Ávila called for the people to unite and help bring about more benefits for the elderly, children, single mothers and the unemployed rather than continue uniting for demonstrations against the July elections.

Excelsior

Jorge Fernández Menéndez, “Reforma laboral: la decision de Peña”:  Jorge Fernández Menéndez is convinced for the need of the labor reform to be passed in the House of Representatives. He believes that the labor market need to adapt to the realities and demands of society and that there needs to be regulations on practices that have become common, but remain and develop outside legal framework. With the bill in the Senate, PAN has proposed to modify four chapters that were passed in the House of Representatives seeking to increase opportunities for more union democracy which would establish free and secret vote within the union.

Milenio

Trascendió: The meeting between Chancellor Angela Merkel and President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto went very well, it was said that the Chancellor was really happy that the President-elect decided to start his European tour in Germany rather than in Spain, where his predecessors traditionally began their tour; Due to not having applied for permits to protest,  30 #YoSoy132 activists were unable to sabotage Peña Nieto’s conference after his meeting with the mayor of Berlin, instead they had to stand outside the Mexican Embassy and Deutsche Bank.

Reforma

Templo Mayor: Emilio Gamboa Patrón, is trying his best to get the labor reform passed without the four new modifications that the PAN want to institute that would change union democracy and accountability; In his third governance report, Rodrigo Medina presented the achievements of the business sector as his doings and failed to mention the deficiencies of the public sector; In June of 2011 it was reported that Heriberto Lazcano was killed during a shootout in Matamoros, but it was just reported that he was in fact alive but killed this past Sunday though his corpse was stolen.

El Universal

Bajo Reserva, “El partido familiar de AMLO”: The new political party that Andrés Manuel López Obrador is trying to create has one characteristic so far: it is going to be an organization comprised by his family and closest friends, his children and brothers are helping to start the state assemblies necessary for the application to the IFE. Soon it will be known whether Luis Videgaray or Emilio Lozoya Austin will be President-elect Peña Nieto’s right hand during his presidency.
