He explores the increasing globalization of drug trafficking and consumption as well as the unintended consequences of the U.S.-led ‘war on drugs.’  As regional support for alternative anti-narcotics policies has grown, Bagley provides essential background about the changing dynamics of the drug economy,the proliferation of drug smuggling routes, and the fragmentation of organized criminal networks across sub-regions.
