According to U.S. government data, Mexican drug cartels currently dominate drug trafficking into the United States and operate in over 250 cities. This was explained by Michael Braun, former DEA chief. The income generated by these drug cartels is around 147 billion dollars annually, of which American consumers generate 65 billion dollars a year.
