After a meeting at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, the Debate Commission of the Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) concluded that there will be four topics to be debated by the presidential candidates on May 6th: the economy and employment; security and justice; social development; and sustainable development.
Representative of the PRI, Jorge Carlos Ramírez Marín, said that it was established to have four instead of three topics for the first debate. The topics of social development and sustainable development will be discussed at the end of the debate, which will be divided into two rounds. Discussion around the other topics will each have four rounds.
The representative also said that there is a firm commitment to include the topics of education and poverty reduction within the topic of social development.
