Reforma
- Templo Mayor: It is unknown if Josefina Vázquez Mota is genuinely catching up to Enrique Peña Nieto. What is known is that many of the PAN candidate’s closet collaboratos have no plans to work within the next federal government. A businessman close to Enrique Peña Nieto who happens to own a construction company has been awarded the contract to construct a pair of new federal penal facilities. It seems that the legislator César Augusto Santiago is at the service of television networks as he launches a very personal war against Mony de Swaan, president of the telecommunications regulator body Cofetel.

The PRD party is yet to finalize its list of candidates for Mexico City’s Legislative Assembly and it is rumored some members of the party are exploring possibilities outside the PRD. Jornada
- Clase Política, “Presidencia y opinión pública”: The Presidency of the Republic has declared untrue rumors that it has contracted a special office to monitor electoral preferences. Supposedly, the President’s office discovered that Josefina Vázquez Mota is only four points away from the PRI’s candidate, Enrique Peña Nieto. The President’s efforts to quell the rumor only fanned accusations from the PRI that the Presidency is waging a dirty war to ensure its candidate wins the election.

Excelsior
- Jorge Fernández Menéndez, “Rodrigo Medina y el síndrome Moreira”: In light of recent events, it has been suggested that Nuevo Leon governor Rodrigo Medina depart the governor’s office despite previously being seen positively as a counterpart to the charismatic Enrique Peña Nieto. Although he began his term surrounded by positive elements, Medina made several grave mistakes such as underestimating the security crisis that began to erupt in the latter days of his predecessor.

Milenio
- Trascendió: The Presidency is caught in a scandal as it has supposedly been involved in electoral polling which suggests that the PAN’s candidate is only four points away from the PRI’s Peña Nieto. Members of the PRI believe that Calderón is attempting to ‘kill’ other polls such as the ‘Consulta Mitofsky’ which shows that Peña is 16 points ahead of the PAN. Meanwhile in Tabasco, there is conflict between the PRI and the PRD as their candidates for the state’s governorship are tied in the polls.

- Ciro Gómez Leyva, “El presidente Calderón tiene que corregir hoy el craso error”: President Calderón revealed that he possessed alternate polls that showed the PAN candidate was only 4 points away from catching up to the PRI. Gómez Leyva affirms that the President has committed a grave and imprudent mistake by revealing these polls since now it seems that the President has jumped into the 2012 electoral battle like a common ‘Fox’.
