The U.S. consulate in Ciudad Juarez reopened its doors yesterday after remaining closed since Friday due to a threat of an attack with explosives.
A few hours after the announcement that the embassy would be reopened on Tuesday morning, the atmosphere in the city was extremely tense due to accounts that there was an explosive device in the guards booth at the international port of entry between this city and El Paso, Texas, which was closed for three hours.
The false alarm caused an intense mobilization of police on both sides of the border, and the object turned out to be a bucket of powder soap.
