The criminal organization of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán knew everything about the Federal Support Forces (FFA) of the Federal Police, under the Secretary of Public Security.
He also knew details about investigations being undertaken by the Navy and SIEDIO (Assistant Attorney General for Special Investigations of Organized Crime) about the suspected links between his group and the port authorities and fishing boats used to import cocaine from South America.
In May 2009, the army found documents belonging to the organization in Culiacán that not only show the pay-offs and warnings they were receiving but also that they possessed information that was only circulated among a few government officials.
