Carmen Aristegui is one of Mexico’s most influential journalists. She has been an anchor, a commentator and a reporter for some of Mexico’s leading radio and television programs. She is currently the morning host of “Radio Noticias MVS,” one of Mexico’s highest ranked radio programs, and anchor of “Aristegui,” CNN en Español’s talk show featuring in-depth conversations with Mexican leaders. In the past, she has hosted shows such as MVS’s “Para Empezar,” W Radio’s “Hoy por Hoy” and Grupo Imagen’s “Imagen Informativa.” She is a regular op-ed columnist for Reforma. She has won Mexico’s Premio Nacional de Periodismo several times and was awarded the Maria Moors Cabot Prize by Columbia University in 2008. Aristegui studied communications at UNAM.
She will discuss her new book, Transición, a collection of interviews with major players in Mexico’s transition to democracy, including former presidents, intellectuals, and government and civil society leaders.
